COMMUNITY

Jessi has grown her experience within the helping professions through numerous sites including Gateway Arts, Thomas A. Edison K-8 School, and Reciprocity Collaborative. Throughout these work experiences she developed her skills in Teaching, Documentation, Public Relations, and Facilitation.

Jessi has nourished her interest in Arts-Based Research while working with Reciprocity Collaborative, and now acts a core-team member on various projects. Jessi is a lead artist for the Harboring Project, an ongoing project within Project SITE: a Reciprocity endeavor that invites artists from across disciplines to create new, site-specific work inspired by history and through deep engagement with guiding questions. The Harboring Project seeks to re-introduce sacred practice(s) on the Boston Harbor Islands as an outlet for the creative expression of eco-grief. Jessi spent her summer investigating the Islands' diverse narratives and documenting signs of sentience along the way. Within this project she worked with youth on the islands, engaging in memory-influenced writing inspired by her own experience. Along with the Harboring Project, Jessi joined Reciprocity as a resident artist at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, working on documentation and public engagement.

Jessi currently serves as a graduate student at Harvard Medical School and teaches in dance at Harvard Dance Center.
